Stamp of the Month

I’ve deccided to do a little feature post each month here at Life’s Visual Journal. I’ll be making and posting a stamp each month. If you want me too, I might even post a tutorial (let me know) on what I used and how the design came to be. If you have a suggestion for a stamp, please let me know!

/>

Last month I went a little crazy and made several! I know I should have posted them back then, but 'meh' I didn't have time!

They are lots of fun to make. The large ones are carved from lino, and the small ones are just from cheap rubbers/erasers from the $2 shop (and I think they ACTUALLY cost $2, who would have thunk it?!) The large ones I printed using paint, not ink, and I don't like how they turned out- all liney from the paint brush...

<img src=

Also, I want to make a little vote at the end, so please put in the comments which one of the small ones is your favourite!

Balloon: Cute? I thought it would be good for b’day cards…

Cupcake: Also handy for birthday cards, and scrapbooking birthday/cooking days

Button: I’m not sure why I did this… I may have just been lacking inspiration?! I like buttons though…

Bunting/Triangles: Inspired by Kim, who is currently making bunting for her wedding. The stamp is just triangles, but when you put them in a line with some drawn ‘rope’ they’re bunting! Yay! Also, you can decorate the stamps with pen once they’re on the paper. :-D Would be cute to write a word in the triangles… (one letter per triangle).\

So what do you think?! What’s your favourite? Would you like to win one as a giveaway some time?! What should I make for this month?!

Thanks for visiting my site again! keep checking back for more updates!

Re-do, do you? I do!

You may remember back in November I wrote about how perhaps if I relived my life from the end of year 12 onwards I may have done things a little differently. Namely what I chose to do at Uni. Well, in the last month and a half (or there abouts) things have happened, and I got a bit of a chance to do just that. No, I’m not going back in time, but I AM going back to Uni!

Yep, you heard right! Uni!

Painty Hands...
I have been feeling so cofuzzled not doing any study this year, and when I found out about the University of New South Wales, College of Fine Arts online Masters degree, I nearly died. Could this be COMBINING two things that I love so perfectly? Plus a fantastic opportunity to study whilst furthering my academic qualifications and keeping my full time job?!

I’m doing a graduate Certificate in Cross-Disciplinary Art & Design, which goes for 6 months. I considered doing it part time, or doing my Graduate Diploma, but what with our holiday planned for October/November, it wasn’t really going to work. I’m planning on getting higher then a Credit average so that i can continue studying up to my Masters next year.

These are the subjects I’m doing…

Cross-Disciplinary Art and Design

Creative Thinking Processes

Digital Illustration for Concept Art

Draw Your World

Hopefully my bloggin life will not go down the toilet hole! At the very least I will show you what I am learning about- photos and what not. :-) I will also need your support, so if you feel like leaving me a comment some time, then I totally wouldn’t mind. ;-)

Pop, Pop, POP!

This week I’m popping up a few other places around the web.

I’ve started contributing to a group blog- Journey To The New Us, to track my weight loss. I may/may not post menuy plans there. Stay tuned here though for recipes and the regular updates. :-)

You might also see me on the sidebar at Hello Owl, one of my most FAVOURITE blogs. Do you like my little add?! Dani is such a gem and gave away some free advertising spaces, which I was lucky enough to get one of! If you haven’t stopped by there before, do so. And if you’ve come here because of that link, WELCOME! I think (hope?!) you’ll find this blog interesting enough to keep coming back. If you ever have any suggestions, you’re welcome to let me know what they are. :-D
