Week Four Reflections… again

So I loved Fiona’s teaching so much that I went in again- Thursday.

They went over to the art gallery at the University. Fiona explained the rules and got kids to demonstrate how we walk outside the school grounds (hold hands, don’t run etc.) before we left the classroom. While we were there the kids went around and looked at all the paintings and artwork and thought about which one they liked the best. The artwork was really interesting- the artist used paint, inks, etc., but she also used earth and gum tree gum and things like that. It was really inspiring.

I went and had a little squize in Chris’ class as well. She uses the correct lingo and everything when doing activities with the kids. For example, they were doing a jigsaw thinking activity, and so that’s what she called it. Another example is if you’re doing a Think-Pair-Share with the kids then call it that. I thought that this was a really good idea, and you’re teaching them strategies to think and work things out.
