Sunday 21st October
Our second day at home involved an extended family lunch for my great Aunty’s Birthday. I felt a little like we had not even left my house/ family, but extended family get together are always a thing with my family, and Luke and I knew that before we got married. We moved two ute loads, and a car load ( as well as the car load we did yesterday) over to the new place. Big thanks goes to my cousin Marcus, and his g/f Emma who let us use his ute to put stuff in and he put it on (we helped) and tied it all on and then moved it all off again. And thanks to Dad for borrowing a ute from work and all his help- we really appreciate it, particularly all the moving before the wedding as well (moving Luke’s stuff out of his old place).
So we had all our furniture in, and went searching for the only sheets that we had received as presents. They were an engagement present from my Aunty Adele and Uncle Barry, and we finally found them and made the bed. That was all we were really worried about as it meant that we could sleep somewhere that night!!
I was all psyched up to make dinner for Luke that night, but then his mum called and there had been a miscommunication- we were meant to go over there for dinner! We went along and she had dinner for us. One of my favourites when we go there- a yummy chicken dish that is mildly hot.
We slept at our place that night, after lots of unpacking! It was not as bad as I had imagined. I had seriously imagined not being able to sleep and being homesick etc. I imagined calling Katie or Kirsty up ( who are both relatively newly married), and asking if this is normal or not. BUT I never called- I never needed too.
Thanks for visiting my site again! keep checking back for more updates!
