For the love of Luke…

For the love of… Luke.

Sometimes when we love someone we do things we don’t want to.

It might be the washing up, making dinner, going to see someone, sex, having your photo taken… anything.

The latest thing I can add to that list? Tai Kwon Do. Last Thursday night.

I was a little nervous, mostly about the expense. But Luke assured me that it is free until we are ready to pay- as in, you can trial it for a few weeks before you commit to a monthly block.

But I went, saw, conquered. Did the shopping afterwards and then watched the end of Luke’s Les Mis practice. Today, I am STILL sore. Even at 11 O’clock at night.

The problem I am finding with being married? Everything suddenly costs double. I would usually be able to afford an $8 lesson, but can we afford 2?? Or it’s not even the question, “can we afford it?” it’s more “Holy smokes, this doesn’t cost $8, it cost $16! That’s two bottles of wine, or two new books from QBD, or almost $20 towards my camera!” and the list goes on…

Okay, so perhaps I am being a little pedantic about only $16, but it’s the principle… am I right?!?

    Sorry, but what principle?

    I don’t quite get that.

You said “you” wouldn’t have thought twice about $8 a lesson. Then said can “we” afford $16

Sounds like you are doubling the result while still thinking singley about how to cover it if that makes any sense at all. Everything may now cost double, but there are also two of you to cover it, not one.

As for your list of what the money could be used for………. I guess you have some priorities to sort out. :) Good luck!

If only our money really was doubled!! Luke is at Uni, so not working full time anymore.

It’s a sacrifice we have to make, I know. And it’s worth it. It’s just not THAT easy some times!!

I know what you mean. Even though I’m not married, Jeff and I sometimes have to work that out too and I’m not working full time and he has other expenses. But He does Kung Fu, I don’t. So that is only singlar phew!! lol
