Wedding Etiquette
At the risk of sounding controversial, I am going to ask a question (and tell you my thoughts on) a particular aspect of wedding etiquette.
If you’re at a wedding, do you wait for the Bride and Groom to leave, before you do? My personal wedding ettiquette says, “yes, of course!!” but unfortunately, not everyone else’s does…
I think I could think this mostly because it rarely happens. When Luke and I got married, we left our reception at about 10:30pm, and by that time at least half our guests had left. To leave and not have people farewell us, well, to be honest, hurt me. It was like people didn’t care enough about us to just wait for us to leave. Mostly young people who didn’t wait- people who would probably have happily stayed out till that time if they were at a party, or watching a late movie, or even just on facebook.
So the next wedding you go to do yourselves a favour and ENJOY the night, and stay and celebrate with the bride and groom- you are doing them a HUGE honour by sticking around till they go.
