Easy Peasy, Pudding and Pie.

Wow, what a week! I am SO tired. We went to see Avatar last Monday night, and didn’t realise what a LONG movie it was. We didn’t get home till just after midnight, and well, that’s a little too late for me, particularly when I have a whole week of work ahead of me!

Luke and I have both been sleeping in a bit each day, and even Pepper has found herself being kicked out bed when it’s time to leave (usually she like to wake up early and chase things…). Luckyily I had lunches already made, so getting ready in 5 minutes wasn’t a problem. :-)

Anyway, the rest of the post is something I’ve wondered for most of my life, and was brought to my attention again when I got my new laptop. So your thoughts would be appreciated!

When I bought my sexy MacBook Pro I made a bag to put it in, so that it was safe while I carried it to and from work.

I guess I was pretty proud of my creation, and so took it to craft group to show the team. Nanna was super impressed, and I was a little shocked. To me, yes, it was nice, but it was still just a bag. Two rectangles of felt, two of wadding, and two of materials. Then some binding stitched at the top and some flaps and buttons added. Not too hard. The part I was proud about was the little flaps- that took thoughts! lol, but no one else noticed much!!

Anyway, it got me thinking, do we sometimes under-value the things we make, or the skills we have? Are we not proud of ourselves, even when we should be? Should we ever be proud? I don’t mean to get all overly comlicated, or spiritual about this, but in james 4:6 (The Bible) it says “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble”. Is this the same sort of proud? Can I be proud of the bag that I’ve made and not be “proud”?

looks great talia! Tara bought me one off etsy for my birthday last year.

You should consider making more and sell them in your etsy store….. hmmm thats an idea.

this is cool – don’t undervalue the small things, because it does take real skills to make something like that little bag.
