It’s a Journey

Food + Limited control over what that food IS = fat weigh in.

Which is really not fun. Particularly when I’ve got a bridesmaid’s dress to fit into by October, and togs to wear for the next few months…

Weigh-ins are Tuesdays, and I’ve only lost 2 KG in the couple of months I’ve been doing this. I know- poor form. I can’t remember if I’ve mentioned before or not that I’m doing Weight Watchers. If I haven’t said so, then you’ve probably guessed from the menu plans! Anyway, the last few weeks I haven’t been going as well as I’d like too, and so I am needing to re-assess, and ask for your advice/experiences/ideas/thoughts/support.

I find my weakest times are when we go friends places for meals. Everyone makes such nice food, it’s too tempting! I try to be good during the week, and I’ve been rotating doing wii fit plus, pilates, and walking/jogging.

But does anyone have some suggestions for sticking to the diet while I’m eating food I haven’t prepared, or while there’s dessert?

Last night we went out for Sushi. It hought it was a pretty healthy alternative? It probably wasn’t as yummy as I anticipated it, but it was still fun choosing the food off the train!!

I’d also like to take the time to thank Jacinta, for the lovely award above! It has definitely made my day. My WEEK even! Writing more comments is part of my 23 by 23 (but I won’t cross it off till I turn 23) which you can view in the sidebar (by the way, I just crossed a whole heap more off that!!).

I’d like to give this award to these lovely people. Thank-you to everyone for your lovely comments- I don’t get very many of them, so I appreciate every one I get. :-)

Bonnie: Thanks so much for the support you show me on this blog. :-)

Carmen: Thanks for leaving me comments so frequently and always encouraging me!

Jacinta: I know you gave this to me, but seriously, you’ve been a lovely commentor!

    Hi there

I found your blog when I was doing a google search a week ago. Can’t remember what I was looking for lol. Anyway had a wee giggle at your 23 by 23 list. I have a 40 things to do before I turn 41 list.

In response to your questions about your weightloss etc. I have been doing something similar to you but with another prog. I started in Aug last year and have lost 26.3 kilos so far. I was originally aiming for 35 kilos and may now try for 45 kilos.

Just recently I was struggling and felt I had lost focus, I sat down last week and did a vision board. Just cut out pictures and words that spoke to me and glued them onto card. Its now hanging on the wall in the spare room we use for exercise.

If you have your dress for October, you could hang it in your room has motivation, or your togs. I did that with a dress I wanted to wear on xmas day.

I also set some new mini goals again, the ones I set in Aug last year were good at the time but the closer I get to 35 kilos I knew I needed to shake things up. I reward myself non food wise at every 5 kilos. I buy myself a bead or charm for my pandora bracelet along with some other pampering reward.

Sometimes the loss doesn’t show on the scale, I get my measurements taken every four weeks, has made a difference to my journey.

I have also come up with some stratgeies for dining out and for catching up with friends. My close friends know what I have been doing and have been supportive. When dining out I always pre plan what I will eat ( I tend to look online for menus of places we will go to). I tend to have a salad as an entree and I choose an entree dish and ask for it to come out with the mains.

I have dealt with each situation as it arises. Not sure if these ideas will help you. :-) Just remember one day at a time.

This week I’ve learnt all about that dieting thing! I’m now on ‘The Wedding Diet’ lol (Jeff’s brother named it that) and it sucks. But i’ve been naughty too! Vanilla slice and chocolate cake is just not on but I still did it! Oh well, I guess we just have to stick it out hey, it will totally be worth it.
    Ps: Thanks for the award!!
Pss: The bridesmaid dresses are very pretty. Can’t wait for you to see them and have a fitting!

    Thanks Carly,

I definitely need to ask some friends to support me I think. Luke is fantastic at it- but I haven’t really let anyone else in on what I’m doing (except for on here), so it’d be good to have a support network. :-)
