This is how my garden grows…
October was a bit of a gardening month, but not intentionally… I bought HEAPS of new plants, and we’re renovating the gazeebo! I’ll post some photos of that soon, but for now, here’s some snaps of the amazing vegies, fruits and flowers we’re got happening!
So here’s a bit of tour of some of the new things in our garden!

Two types of lavender...
Lavender… one of my favourite smells…

Cute baby capsicum!
Capsicum… aren’t the cute?!

An itty, bitty watermellon!
Watermellon… Oh so tiny!

Cherry, Gormet, Yellow and Black Russian!
Many varieties of Tomato… These flowers will become little cherry tomatos!

The lemon (lemondae variety) is nearly ready to flower!
Lemon Tree… can’t wait to see what these flowers are like!

Zucchini flower... yum!
Zucchini… perfect for making lots of zucchini soup!

Gardening & Birthdays…
Did you know I’m part of an apron swap? We’re making garden aprons! I am nearly finished mine- I’ve got the basic apron shape done and just have to put on some ties, and some pockets! I was thinking about it today, and was therefore inspired to go out and do a bit in my own garden!
Remember when Luke made me my super pot? Well, since then I’ve planted up all my other herbs into tyres (as well as some in the pot Luke made), and straberries and what not in the back garden bed. Nanna gave me a stack of beautiful cane mulch for Christmas (I know, SHAME it has taken my nearly 6 months to do something with it!!), and while Luke is out shopping for my birthday presents (!!!) with Hay & Mon, I decided to invest the time is getting rid of weeds, and using up the much!

Also, it is my birthday on Wednesday, and Luke organised for my family and a few of our friends (unfortunately not all- it was pretty booked out) to go down to the Jazz club in Brisbane on Friday night. If you have not been (and live in QLD) then you MUST go, it is absolutely the best place ever!
And I love my Mum & Dad. They are so cute and in love, and it makes me happy to go out with them. I could seriously just chat with them for ages and not get bored.

How My Garden Grows…
I have a most amazing husband… Today while I was off working he made me this for my garden!
I thought it was so great, and I feel so lucky to have someone who thinks of me and does special things for me! I wanted him to be my guest blogger, and tell you all how he made it, but he declined… he said you can all make it yourselves using the instructions he found on instructables. So I’ve linked to them here.
I’ve only had this for a few hours now, but I’ve already planted Thyme and Pepermint in the top two tiers! I think they’ll do well there- in the shade a bit. They don’t so much like the harsh soil, and harsher sun in the back garden.
I’d love to know if you make one of these yourself! What do you like to plant your herbs in?
